Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

OpenCal AI (bundle ID com.opencal.ai) is published by Alovate, a company organized under the laws of the State of Delaware, USA. In this policy, “we,” “us,” and “Alovate” mean Alovate. You can reach us at support@alovate.ai.

2. Medical disclaimer (please read)

OpenCal AI is not a medical device. Calorie and macro estimates from photos are approximate, generated by AI, and intended for general wellness tracking only. The app does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. OpenCal AI does not share data with Apple Health, Google Fit, or any health partner. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before making medical or nutritional decisions.

3. Data we collect

• Account email — to create and secure your account.
• Authentication identifier — an opaque user ID issued by our auth provider.
• In-app purchase receipts — to validate and restore your subscription.
• Food photos — pictures you take in the app, sent to an AI vision model for food recognition.
• Meal and calorie history — what you logged, when, and your daily targets.
• Device information for crash reports — device model, OS version, and app version, to diagnose crashes.

4. Why we use it

• Account email & auth ID — sign-in, account recovery, security.
• IAP receipts — entitlement checks, restore-purchases, refunds.
• Food photos — sent to our AI vision provider so the model can recognize what is on your plate and return a calorie estimate.
• Meal and calorie history — so the app can show your daily log, totals, and trends.
• Device info — debugging crashes and improving stability. Not used for advertising.

5. Third-party processors

We rely on the processors below. Each operates under its own privacy policy.

• Supabase — authentication, database, and storage for your account, meal history, and photo uploads. Privacy policy.
• RevenueCat — in-app purchase and entitlement management. Privacy policy.
• OpenAI — AI vision model used to recognize food in the photos you submit. Privacy policy.
• Apple — App Store distribution, sign in, in-app purchases. Privacy policy.
• Google — Google Play distribution and billing on Android. Privacy policy.

We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

6. Retention & account deletion

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from inside the app:

Settings → Delete Account

This triggers a server-side cascade that removes your profile, meal history, and uploaded food photos. IAP receipts retained by Apple, Google, or RevenueCat for tax/audit purposes are kept by those processors per their policies. Backups may retain residual copies for up to 30 days before being overwritten.

7. Children

OpenCal AI is rated 4+ on the App Store and Everyone on Google Play. It is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact support@alovate.ai and we will delete it.

8. International transfers

Alovate is based in the United States. Your data may be processed in the United States by our infrastructure (Supabase) and our AI provider (OpenAI), and in other regions where Apple and Google operate. By using OpenCal AI you understand that data may be transferred to and processed in the United States.

9. Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by emailing support@alovate.ai. Where applicable (e.g. GDPR, CCPA) you also have the right to object to processing and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

10. Security

Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored on Supabase infrastructure that is access controlled. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data using industry-standard safeguards.

11. Governing law

This policy is governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
